In September 2002, I celebrated my Golden Jubilee as a Sister of Saint Joseph. It was for me a time of great joy, a time of celebration. I took the time to reflect on how God has blessed me with the wonderful children who have touched my life during my 31 years of teaching in the classroom, which included five years with the deaf. Teaching continued in other ways: Five years in our Community House of Prayer Nine years living with eight mentally disabled deaf adults. Three years with severely emotionally disturbed teenage girls. At present, I begin my second year as a teaching parent at Boys Hope Girls Hope, NY. We live in a beautiful home in Brentwood on our Mother house grounds. There are eight girls, aged 13-17, who have been hurt and at risk. We try to help them realize their potential by providing a value-centered family-like home and a quality education. You can imagine what a great challenge is before me. Yet God has blessed me with good health and a desire to respond to all that He calls me to do. Know that I carry you all in my heart and that I lift you and your loved ones in prayer to our loving Father.
